EuroCup Basketball Fixtures
The EuroCup already has a 20-year-long history behind it. When it comes to the teams earning their spots, it depends on the positioning in the domestic leagues. This means that 20 qualified teams will start the regular season. These teams are divided into two groups, 10 a piece, where each team plays the other two times during this phase.
Six top teams from each group advance to the next phase of the competition. The top two from each group advance to the quarterfinals directly, while the teams positioned from third to sixth will go to the eighth-finals.
The playoff series is played in a best-out-of-three format, as the teams play against each other until the finals. The finals are played in the same format, with the advantage given to the team that had a better position after the Top 16 phase.
The 2023/24 EuroCup basketball season will be played on 3 October 2023 and will end on 17 April 2024. Gran Canaria will be defending their crown from last season after declining the offer to join the EuroLeague.
Basketball EuroCup Favourites
When it comes to the best teams this season, all eyes will be on Paris and Gran Canaria. The team from the Canary Islands will be defending the throne won last year. Besides experience, they have a good roster. The Argentine international, Nicolas Brussino, is leading the team and has a lot of support from
Sylven Landesberg and Miquel Salvo.
Their biggest opponents are definitely Paris. Last year, the Parisians were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Gran Canaria, and this time, they aim to go all the way. Their scoring duo of TJ Shorts and Collin Malcolm is a scary threat for any of the teams in the competition.
The Spaniards are always in the mix, no matter the basketball competition in question. For that reason, we shouldn’t disregard Joventut Badalona as well. Andrew Andrews and DeShaun Thomas are leading the scoring charts of the team, while Ante Tomic adds the veteran presence.
Finally, Besiktas will be the fourth pretender to the EuroCup title. The Turkish team wasn’t a part of the EuroCup last season, but they are here now and are ready to go all the way. Here is how the teams are divided into groups this season.

EuroCup Top Players
Last season, players like Yogi Ferrell, Jerian Grant, and John Shurna were the stars of the show. They won most of the acolytes and garnered most of the individual praises for the season.
As far as this year goes, there are some new players that we can expect exceptional performances. Some of them include Rasheed Sulaimon from Wolves, Trevion Lamon Williams, who plays for Ulm, and Xavier Munford, the best player at Hapoel Tel Aviv.

EuroCup Basketball Winners
If we take the past 20 years and analyse them, we come to the conclusion that Valencia Basket is the most successful EuroCup club to date. Unfortunately, they are now playing in the EuroLeague, but they have left one of the biggest stamps on the competition thus far. With four titles and two runner-up placements, they are by far the best team in the EuroCup.
Rytas Vilnius and BC Khimki are the only other clubs that have more than one title, as both teams have two trophies from three finals appearances. As far as countries go, Spain is the most successful one, as the ACB league has provided eight winners thus far. They are followed by Russia with five, and then Turkey and Lithuania share the third spot with two trophies apiece.
